Do you service commercial doors?

Yes, we service both residential and commercial garage doors.

What brands do you work with?

We install and service CHI, Clopay, Amarr doors and LiftMaster, Chamberlain openers.

Can you fix garage doors from any manufacturer?

Yes, we repair and service all major brands including CHI, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Raynor, and Overhead Door. Our technicians carry common parts for most manufacturers and can source specialty components within 24-48 hours. We also work with all opener brands: LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Craftsman, and Marantec.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, we are Oregon licensed contractor CCB #209697, fully bonded and insured.

What warranty do you provide?

All repairs include 1-year labor warranty. Parts carry manufacturer warranty (springs: 1-3 years, openers: 5-10 years). CHI installations include lifetime installation guarantee.

How do I know if my garage door spring is broken?

Signs: door won't open or lifts only 6 inches, visible gap in spring coil, loud bang when spring broke, door feels very heavy when lifting manually. WARNING: Never attempt to open door with broken spring—can cause serious injury or damage.

How long do garage door springs last?

Standard springs last 7-10 years or 10,000 cycles. High-cycle springs last 15-30 years. Central Oregon's temperature extremes can reduce lifespan. We recommend inspection every 2 years.

What's the difference between torsion and extension springs?

Torsion springs (above door) are safer, last longer, and operate smoother. Extension springs (on sides) are older technology with higher failure rates. We recommend torsion for all installations.

Why is my garage door so loud?

Noise indicates worn rollers, loose hardware, or dry tracks. Our tune-up service includes roller replacement, hardware tightening, and lubrication. Fixes most noise issues in one visit.

My garage door won't open—what should I check first?

Check: 1) Opener is plugged in and receiving power, 2) Wall switch and remote batteries, 3) Door isn't manually locked, 4) Nothing blocking photo-eye sensors (waist-high on tracks). If these check out, call us—likely spring or opener failure.

What causes most garage door problems?

Top causes: 1) Worn or broken springs (40% of repairs)—natural wear from daily use, 2) Track misalignment—from impact or foundation settling, 3) Opener malfunctions—sensor issues, gear wear, circuit board failure, 4) Weather damage—Central Oregon's freeze-thaw cycles affect seals and components. Regular annual maintenance prevents 80% of emergency repairs.

How long does garage door installation take?

Most installations are completed in 4-6 hours, same day.

How do I know if I need a new garage door?

Consider replacing if: door is 20+ years old, panels are cracked, insulation is failing, or opener strains to lift. Modern insulated doors can significantly reduce heating costs in Bend's climate.

How do I set up WiFi on my new garage door opener?

Most LiftMaster/Chamberlain openers use the myQ app: 1) Download app, create account, 2) Press learn button on opener, 3) Follow app prompts to connect to WiFi. Older models may need WiFi hub purchase. We offer free setup assistance with all opener installations.

How often should I maintain my garage door?

Professional maintenance once per year is recommended. Monthly: visual inspection, test auto-reverse. Quarterly: clean tracks, lubricate moving parts. Central Oregon's freeze-thaw cycles require spring tension checks annually.

How do I prepare my garage door for Central Oregon winters?

Before winter: lubricate all moving parts with cold-weather grease, check weather stripping for gaps, test auto-reverse in cold temps, clear debris from tracks. Extreme cold can affect spring tension and opener force settings—we offer pre-winter inspections.

Can I repair my own garage door?

Minor issues (lubricating tracks, weather seal) are DIY-safe. Spring and cable repair require professional tools. Torsion springs store 200+ lbs of tension—improper handling causes serious injury.

When should I call a professional vs. fix it myself?

DIY-safe: replacing weather seals, lubricating parts, changing remote batteries, cleaning sensors. NEVER DIY: spring replacement, cable repair, track realignment, opener motor repair. If you're unsure or safety is a concern, call us for a free phone assessment.

Can I repair a broken spring myself?

No, spring replacement is extremely dangerous due to high tension. Always hire licensed professionals.
