You just called 541-203-7676. Or you are about to. Either way, here is exactly what the experience looks like from start to finish. No surprises.
The Phone Call
Tyler or one of our technicians answers. Not a call center, not a receptionist — someone who actually works on garage doors. We ask a few diagnostic questions:
- What is the door doing (or not doing)?
- Did you hear a loud bang? (spring)
- Is the door stuck open, closed, or halfway?
- How old is the door and opener?
- What is your address and when works for you?
Based on your answers, we can usually tell you over the phone what the problem likely is and give you a ballpark range. We load the truck with the right parts and head your way.
If you call before 2 PM Monday through Friday, we can typically be there the same day. We give you a 2-hour arrival window and the tech texts you when they are 15 minutes out.
When We Arrive
You will see a truck with "Brokentop Garage Doors" on the side. The technician introduces themselves, walks to the garage, and spends 5-10 minutes diagnosing the problem. We look at the springs, cables, rollers, tracks, panels, and opener — even if you already know what is wrong, we check the whole system because one failure often causes or reveals others.
For example: a broken spring might have caused the opener to strain and strip a gear. If we only replace the spring and miss the stripped gear, you call us again in a week. We catch everything on the first visit.
The Quote
We explain what we found in plain English. Not technical jargon, not scare tactics — just what is wrong, what needs to be fixed, and why. Then we give you the price. Written, specific, and final. No "oh, we found something else" surprises after we start.
You approve the price. If you decide not to proceed, we button everything back up and you owe nothing for the diagnosis. No pressure, no hard sell.
The Repair
Most repairs take 30-90 minutes depending on the issue:
- Spring replacement: 45-90 minutes. We replace both springs, balance the door, test multiple cycles.
- Cable replacement: 30-60 minutes. Both cables, drum inspection, balance check.
- Roller replacement: 30-45 minutes. All rollers swapped, tracks cleaned, lubricated.
- Opener repair: 30-60 minutes. Gear kit, capacitor, or sensor replacement.
- Track realignment: 45-75 minutes. Plumb, level, and parallel verification.
About 85% of repairs are completed from parts we carry on the truck. No second visit, no waiting for parts to arrive.
Before We Leave
We test the door through multiple complete cycles — open and close, open and close. We verify the auto-reverse works (2x4 test). We check the photo-eye sensors. We make sure the door balances at half-open.
We clean up any debris, packaging, or old parts. Your garage should be as clean as when we arrived — or cleaner.
You get a written invoice with the work performed, parts used, and warranty details. Our standard warranty: 1 year on labor, manufacturer warranty on parts (varies by component). Spring replacements include lifetime labor warranty.
After the Repair
If anything feels off within 30 days — the door is making a new noise, the balance seems off, the opener is acting differently — call us. We come back and check it at no charge. New springs and cables settle slightly during the first few weeks of use, and a minor adjustment is normal.
We recommend scheduling an annual tune-up to prevent future surprises. Preventive maintenance catches problems before they become emergencies — a fraying cable spotted during a tune-up is a scheduled repair, not a 6 AM crisis.
That Is It
Phone call, diagnosis, quote, approval, repair, testing, cleanup, warranty. That is the whole process. No hidden fees, no surprise charges, no upselling.
